Marcus Rashford is back in Manchester United’s starting XI as they make five changes for Sunday’s visit to Leeds. The hosts, by contrast, name the same starting lineup they used in their previous league match against Arsenal.
Rashford leads United’s attack in a 4-2-3-1. Andrey Santos, Ayden Heaven, Carlos Baleba and Diogo Dalot also come into the side, with Amad Diallo, Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw and Matheus Cunha dropping out from the team that started against Tottenham Hotspur.
Bruno Fernandes and Youri Tielemans are named behind Rashford and Bryan Mbeumo. United’s starting XI is Senne Lammens in goal, with Dalot, Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martínez and Heaven in defence; Santos and Baleba sit in the midfield pairing.
Leeds stick with a 3-4-2-1. James Trafford starts behind James Justin, Nico Elvedi and Tarik Muharemović, while Jayden Bogle, Ethan Ampadu, Ao Tanaka and Gabriel Gudmundsson make up the midfield line. Anton Stach and Noah Okafor support Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front.
Leeds are without Ilia Gruev, Joe Rodon, Mateo Joseph and Sean Longstaff. Daniel James is doubtful. United are missing Benjamin Sesko, Manuel Ugarte, Patrick Dorgu and Tom Heaton.
The league table gives the game added weight: Leeds are eighth with nine points from six matches, while United are 14th on six. United’s five changes put Rashford and four other fresh starters into a side looking to close that gap. The teams meet on Sunday, 18 October, with kick-off at 14:00 BST.
