Hull City have lost just once in six Premier League matches, and Sky Sports tipster Lewis Jones says that record makes them his best bet of the weekend against Fulham. He recommends Hull on the double chance at 6/5, covering either a win or a draw, and predicts a 2-1 away victory.
Jones argues that Hull’s performances have earned more respect than the betting market has shown. Their only defeat came against Newcastle, but Jones notes Hull still won the expected-goals battle in that game. They also came out ahead on the same measure in their 2-2 draw at Chelsea, results he says show they can compete with established Premier League sides and carry a threat of their own.
Fulham’s recent record from winning positions gives Jones another reason to back Hull. They let leads slip against Ipswich and Crystal Palace, and he believes that defensive vulnerability could be exposed by an opponent willing to keep pressing. His wager is not on a Hull victory alone: the double chance also pays out if the match ends level.
Jones has two other picks for the weekend. For Everton’s meeting with Chelsea, he backs defender James Tarkowski to score anytime at 14/1 and forecasts a 2-2 draw. Jones points to Chelsea’s seven set-piece goals conceded this season, the most in the Premier League, and says their rate of 0.53 conceded per 90 minutes since the start of last season is also the league’s highest over that span.
Tarkowski, Jones says, leads Everton’s defenders for touches in the opposition box and shots. The defender has scored three times in his last 15 games, including against Bournemouth this season, making him Jones’ target to exploit Chelsea’s set-piece record.
For Brentford against Liverpool, Jones recommends Brentford double chance combined with under 3.5 goals at 11/10, with a 2-1 Brentford win as his score prediction. He points to Liverpool’s six non-penalty league goals, the sixth-fewest in the division, and nine Opta-defined big chances created. That big-chance total is joint-lowest with Aston Villa and Coventry; Brighton have created 27.
Hull-Fulham is the headline call: Jones sees Hull’s results and Fulham’s dropped leads as reasons to expect the visitors to avoid defeat.
