Eli Junior Kroupi is back in outdoor training after a broken foot, giving Tottenham more time to assess the Bournemouth forward before January—but there is no confirmed transfer approach or renewed bid.
Bournemouth Echo journalist Alexander Smith reported on 14 October, relaying an update from Bournemouth manager Marco Rose, that Kroupi “may be back in a few weeks”. The 20-year-old’s return to outdoor work is a step forward, not confirmation that he is ready to play. Bournemouth’s verified records list him as out with a foot injury.
That distinction matters for Spurs. Reports said Tottenham were close to an offer worth more than £80 million in the summer before Kroupi’s injury, and that he featured on the club’s striker shortlist. Neither the reported interest nor a potential offer has been confirmed by Tottenham. The club instead brought in Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on an initial loan; he had yet to score for Spurs at the time of the report.
Kroupi’s record gives Tottenham a reason to keep watching. He scored 13 goals in 33 Premier League appearances for Bournemouth in 2025-26 and registered 22 shots on target. A return to competitive football would let Spurs judge his condition and performances before deciding whether to pursue a major investment in attack. But the reported summer price would make the fit with Tottenham’s plans—and whether another expensive forward is the right answer to their scoring problems—central questions.
Fichajes has also linked Arsenal and Barcelona with Kroupi, but those reports are unconfirmed. The outlet put a possible Bournemouth asking price at around €100 million (£84.8 million); that is not an official valuation or fee. With Kroupi still recovering, a January move remains uncertain, and Bournemouth have little reason to rush a decision.
Bournemouth are 18th with three points from six games and host Sunderland on 18 October. Kroupi’s progress could give Tottenham more to assess before the window opens, but the current news is about his recovery—not a deal.
