Manchester City scored three times after Ryan Gravenberch was sent off to beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield. Erling Haaland, Jérémy Doku and Rayan Cherki struck in the second half as City made it six Premier League wins from six and stayed top of the table.

The teams were level at half-time, but Liverpool’s task changed in the 62nd minute when Gravenberch was dismissed. City moved ahead three minutes later: Haaland opened the scoring in the 65th minute.

Doku doubled the lead in the 68th, with Elliot Anderson providing the assist. Cherki completed the scoring in the 78th minute after Joško Gvardiol set him up. All three goals came after Liverpool went down to 10 men.

The win leaves City on 18 points from six matches, with a perfect record. It also gives them back-to-back league wins at Anfield for the first time since 1953.

Liverpool are ninth on nine points after six games, with their recent form listed as LWDWD. The defeat leaves them with ground to make up on the leaders, while City have turned their winning start into a six-point advantage over Liverpool.

Both sides return to league action on Saturday, 17 October, at 15:00 BST. Liverpool travel to Brentford; City host Ipswich Town as they look to extend their winning run.
