Chelsea have not scored on their last three Premier League visits to Everton. Their first match outside London this season brings two tests at once: can they break that run at Hill Dickinson Stadium, and can last weekend’s win over Bournemouth become the start of a winning streak?
The sides are level on 10 points after six league games, with Everton fifth and Chelsea sixth. Everton are one of three unbeaten teams in the league, alongside Manchester City and Brentford. They have drawn four and won two of their six matches.
The recent head-to-head record at Everton gives the hosts the edge. The Toffees have won six of their last nine home league meetings with Chelsea, with two draws and one Chelsea win. Chelsea failed to score in seven of those nine games. Their most recent visit, in March, ended in a 3-0 Everton victory and was Chelsea’s first at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton’s current league unbeaten run stands at six matches: two wins and four draws. Their three league games at Hill Dickinson Stadium this season have brought victories over Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace, plus a draw with Manchester United. They have also kept five clean sheets in eight matches across all competitions.
Chelsea arrive with a more open record. They have scored 15 goals in six league matches, and their games have produced 28 goals overall—more than any other Premier League side’s at this stage. But they have conceded in each of their last 22 league games. Their most recent league clean sheet came against Brentford on 17 January; their last away shutout was at Bournemouth on 6 December last year.
The Bournemouth win was Chelsea’s latest league victory. They are now chasing consecutive league wins for the first time since beating Fulham and Brighton in their opening two games. Everton’s resilience at home and Chelsea’s long run without a clean sheet make this a sharp test of whether the visitors can turn one result into momentum. Breaking the scoring drought would be just as important: another blank would extend a run that has defined Chelsea’s recent trips to Everton.
