Bournemouth have changed their stance on Alex Scott, with Fabrizio Romano reporting the club could consider a January sale if a major offer arrives. The fee is expected to exceed £100m, Romano said, citing the BBC.

Romano reported on X that Bournemouth rejected every proposal for Scott during the summer, but are now open to a sale after meeting with the midfielder’s representatives. Chelsea remain involved, he added, while Liverpool were also keen in July. No move has been agreed, and any January transfer depends on a bid meeting Bournemouth’s demands.

Scott’s contract runs until 2028. ReadLiverpoolFC reports that he has already turned down several offers from Bournemouth and that the club does not want to risk losing him for free a year later. The reported asking price, alongside Chelsea’s continued interest, presents a significant obstacle for Liverpool.

Liverpool are expected to make several signings over the coming transfer windows under Andoni Iraola, according to ReadLiverpoolFC. The report also points to the arrival of sporting director Julian Ward, who knows the club, and Scott’s strong working relationship with Iraola as reasons for Liverpool’s interest. Those links help explain the connection, but they do not mean Liverpool have secured a deal or that Bournemouth will accept a lower offer.

Scott has scored once and registered no assists in Bournemouth’s six league games this season. Bournemouth are 18th with three points, while Chelsea sit sixth on 10. Scott is listed as out with a thigh injury.

For Liverpool, the possibility of Scott becoming available is not a straightforward opening: Romano’s reported price is above £100m, and Chelsea are still in the picture. Bournemouth’s response to any proposal will determine whether the January interest becomes a genuine transfer contest.
