Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson scored as Bournemouth beat Sunderland 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium, with Kevin Danso sent off for the visitors in the 17th minute.

Tavernier put Bournemouth ahead after six minutes, finishing a move assisted by Evanilson. Sunderland’s task became harder when Danso was dismissed 11 minutes later. Bournemouth held their lead into half-time, then Evanilson scored three minutes after the break to make it 2-0.

The result lifts Bournemouth to 15th in the Premier League table, with six points from seven games. Sunderland remain 19th on four points after the same number of matches. The two sides are separated by two points, with Bournemouth moving further clear of Sunderland in the standings.

For Bournemouth, the win comes ahead of a trip to Manchester United on Sunday 25 October, with kick-off at 14:00 GMT. Sunderland return home later that day to face Leeds United at 16:30 GMT. They will go into that match looking to add to their four points after seven games.

Evanilson contributed to both goals: he set up Tavernier’s opener and then scored the second himself. Danso’s early dismissal left Sunderland with ten players while they were already trailing, and Bournemouth went on to secure the 2-0 result. The teams now turn to their next league fixtures, with Bournemouth away at Manchester United and Sunderland hosting Leeds.
