Roma have taken 14 points from their first six Serie A matches, but consecutive draws have slowed their start just as Genoa arrive at the Stadio Olimpico with a first league win behind them. The matchup gives Gian Piero Gasperini’s third-placed side a chance to turn an unbeaten record into another victory; Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa will be looking to build on their result against Fiorentina.

Roma’s last two league games ended 2-2 against Inter and 0-0 against Como. The contrast is clear: they found the net twice against Inter but were held scoreless by Como. A Champions League defeat to Real Madrid adds to the recent setbacks Gasperini’s side will want to leave behind.

Genoa’s win over Fiorentina was their first in the league this season. That gives the visitors a result to carry into Saturday’s match, while Roma have the stronger league record so far: third place and 14 points from six games. The immediate test for Roma is whether they can turn that consistency into a win after back-to-back stalemates.

Calciomercato’s predicted line-ups have Roma in a 3-4-2-1, with Pierluigi Gollini in goal and Evan Ndicka, Gianluca Mancini and Leonardo Balerdi in defence. Lulli, Pisilli, Marten de Roon and Wesley are tipped across midfield, with Matías Soulé and Mora behind Castro.

Genoa are predicted to use a 4-4-2. Justin Bijlow is listed in goal, with Ehizibue, Marcandalli, Leo Østigård and Alan Matturro Vasquez in defence; Ellertsson, Frendrup, Traoré and El Shaarawy are tipped across midfield. Junior Messias and Osmajic are named up front. These are predicted line-ups, not confirmed teams.

Kick-off is scheduled for 20:45 CEST on Saturday, 17 October. Roma have the unbeaten start and the league position to protect, but their recent draws leave a straightforward priority: find a way to turn control of their season into three points. Genoa, meanwhile, can make their first win count by following it with another result.
