Giacomo Raspadori may miss Atalanta’s Serie A trip to AC Milan on 18 October after leaving the 3-1 win over Pafos with a problem in his right thigh. Tests are scheduled for the following day, but no recovery timeframe has been confirmed. Calciomercato.com reported that it would be difficult for the forward to be ready for the Milan match.

Raspadori’s injury cut short a decisive opening spell. He set up Eljif Elmas for Atalanta’s first goal, then scored from the penalty spot in the 18th minute to make it 2-0. He came off after about 20 minutes and Charles De Ketelaere replaced him.

Reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport and ViolaNews said Raspadori was hurt while taking the penalty. Tuttomercatoweb described the problem as a strain or irritation to the flexor in his right thigh and reported that medical examinations were due the next day. Those tests will clarify the extent of the injury; for now, his availability against Milan remains uncertain.

The timing is awkward for Atalanta. Tuttomercatoweb noted that Raspadori had only just returned to the starting line-up after an injury suffered before the international break. His brief appearance against Pafos showed what he brings: he was directly involved in both of Atalanta’s first two goals before having to leave.

De Ketelaere was the immediate replacement, but his league numbers offer little basis for a like-for-like comparison: he has made one Serie A appearance this season, with no goals or assists. Elmas has one assist in one league appearance. The more concrete loss, if Raspadori is unavailable, is the player who shaped Atalanta’s start against Pafos.

Atalanta travel to face a Milan side sitting fifth with 12 points from six matches, having recorded three wins and three draws. Atalanta are 10th on nine points, with three wins and three defeats. They head into the fixture after a win, while Milan’s latest league result was a draw.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, 18 October, with kick-off at 18:00 CEST. Atalanta will have to wait for the medical assessment to learn whether Raspadori can feature. Until then, the concern is clear: a player who supplied and scored the first two goals against Pafos is a doubt for a demanding league trip.
