Atalanta face an unbeaten AC Milan side with a fresh concern over Giacomo Raspadori: the forward has suffered a low-grade strain in his right hamstring and has begun rehabilitation.
Scans on the morning of 17 October identified the injury in the biceps femoris muscle of his right thigh, Atalanta said in a club update. The news arrives on the eve of the teams’ Serie A meeting, but the update did not state whether Raspadori would be available for the match.
There were further fitness-related updates from Zingonia. Giorgio Scalvini, Franck Kessié and Kossounou underwent treatment, while Hien, Sulemana and Pompei worked in the gym and on the pitch. Atalanta did not declare any of those players available for the trip to Milan.
The squad’s final preparations included an afternoon session at the Centro Bortolotti. Players began with a rondo and technical activation before moving into tactical drills and set-piece work.
The fixture presents Atalanta with a chance to turn their latest league win into consecutive victories. They sit 10th with nine points from six matches, having won three and lost three. Milan are sixth on 12 points and have yet to lose, with three wins and three draws; they drew their most recent league match.
That leaves Atalanta facing a clear test: build on the win while taking on a Milan team that has avoided defeat through the opening six rounds. Raspadori’s injury is an added concern as the visitors prepare for that challenge, though the club’s update stops short of confirming his match status.
Milan-Atalanta kicks off on Sunday 18 October at 18:00 CEST, in the seventh round of Serie A.
