Roberto Piccoli is expected to lead Bologna’s attack against Serie A leaders Inter, with Jay Enem’s goal at Lecce not yet enough to move him ahead in the selection race. That leaves Bologna tipped to start with Piccoli, Federico Bernardeschi and Cambiaghi up front, while Riccardo Orsolini is absent.

The predicted choice, reported by Il Resto del Carlino and carried by Tuttobolognaweb, puts experience and the current selection order ahead of the boost Enem earned with his finish. Enem has one league goal this season, and the report describes his Lecce goal as an important signal. Piccoli, however, remains favoured.

The distinction matters against an Inter side that has 16 points from six games and a goal difference of +10. Bologna’s attack is expected to be without Orsolini, so the reported front three will need to provide the threat. But this is a forecast of Raffaele Palladino’s selection, not a confirmed team sheet.

There may be changes behind the attack, too. Pessina is tipped to keep his place in goal ahead of Łukasz Skorupski after the Polish goalkeeper’s error against Torino. The report says the change would continue the opportunity Pessina has received since then.

Arthur Theate is expected to return on the left of defence. Casale is favoured over Heggem for the central position, while Darmian is expected on the right. Those projected defensive choices would give Bologna a different look as they prepare to face the league leaders.

Bologna are due to play Inter away on Saturday, 17 October, at 18:00 CEST. Until the teams are announced, Piccoli’s place ahead of Enem and Pessina’s reported advantage over Skorupski remain expected selections rather than settled decisions.
