Parma Calcio Women appoint Stefano Sottili through 2026/27

Parma Calcio Women have named Stefano Sottili their new head coach on a contract running through the end of the 2026/27 season, the club announced on 8 October 2026. The appointment brings a coach with extensive experience in Italy’s professional game back into the women’s game after his record-setting season with Como Women.

Sottili, 57, began coaching in women’s football in 2024, when he took charge of Como. Parma said he set Como’s record for points in the top flight during the 2024/25 season. That achievement gives Parma a recent women’s-football milestone to point to alongside Sottili’s longer career in the men’s professional game.

Before moving to Como, Sottili coached across Serie B and Serie C, with spells at Venezia, Carrarese, Varese and Feralpisalò, according to Parma’s announcement. The club also highlighted his promotions to Serie C1 with Carpi in 2010/11 and Venezia in 2012/13.

The appointment pairs that experience with a fresh chapter in women’s football. Sottili’s Como role was his first senior women’s coaching job, and Parma’s announcement describes his new deal as lasting through the end of 2026/27. The length of the contract gives the club and its new coach a defined period to work together, while his most recent women’s-game achievement offers a clear point of reference for the move.

Parma welcomed Sottili through a statement from president Kyle J. Krause, CEO Federico Cherubini and the club. The announcement did not set out further details about his plans or objectives. For now, the key change is clear: Sottili leaves Como’s record-setting campaign behind and takes charge of Parma Calcio Women on a deal covering the next two seasons.
