Bologna will have to plan for the coming weeks without Riccardo Orsolini, who has a grade-one tear in his right hamstring, while Jens Odgaard has rejoined full training. The contrast is a timely boost and a significant loss for a side sitting 14th in Serie A with five points from six matches.
Orsolini underwent medical tests that found an injury to his right biceps femoris, the muscle at the back of the thigh. Bologna estimate his recovery will take three weeks. He has scored once in his only Serie A appearance this season, so the club will be without a recent contributor to its attack during that period.
Odgaard completed the entire training session with his team-mates. Bologna’s morning session at the Niccolò Galli training centre included gym work, technical and tactical exercises, a small-sided game and running to finish. His return to the group gives the coaching staff another player in training, though the club’s update does not confirm when he will be available for a match.
The news arrives before Bologna host Inter on October 17. Odgaard’s return gives the squad a positive option as preparations continue, but Orsolini’s absence leaves a gap to manage across the next stretch. With Bologna on five points after six league matches, the timing makes the injury more than a routine fitness update: the team must navigate its upcoming plans without a player who has already scored in the league this season.
The immediate picture is therefore mixed. Odgaard is back working with the group, while Orsolini’s three-week recovery estimate puts the focus on how Bologna adjust until he can return.
