Juventus are not rushing into a January striker decision, chief football officer Frederic Massara told DAZN before the Lazio match, according to Calciomercato.com. Massara said there was still plenty of time before the window and pointed to using two centre-forwards as one option for the team.

Randal Kolo Muani was set to start against Lazio, Massara said, while Nick Woltemade could join him during the game. “The two centre-forwards are a solution,” he said, leaving the decision on whether they play together to the coach. His comments describe a tactical option, not a commitment to sign another forward.

Massara also cited Ekhator as another option. FcInter1908.it reported that Massara expected the forward, who was injured, to return in a couple of weeks; Juventus’ verified squad information lists J. Ekhator as out with a muscle injury. That gives the club a further forward to consider, but Massara did not say Juventus had ruled in or out a January signing.

The wider market, Massara said, has become harder for Italian clubs over the past two years. He described Italian football as “less competitive than other leagues” and said clubs need to make investments earlier, particularly when pursuing young talent. He acknowledged that taking a longer view can be difficult at major clubs, where expectations and pressure make patience harder.

Massara also urged clubs to be “more creative” in finding solutions that fit their squads. In the discussion reported by FcInter1908.it, the examples raised included a young talent such as Kerim Alajbegović or a player surplus to requirements at a bigger club. Massara agreed with the broader challenge, but did not announce a Juventus move for Alajbegović.

Juventus went into the Lazio fixture eighth in Serie A, with 11 points from six matches: three wins, two draws and one defeat, and a goal difference of plus four. Their next match was scheduled at home against Lazio on Sunday, October 18, at 20:45 CEST. For now, Massara’s message is that Juventus have options in attack and time to weigh their next move.
