Lecce beat Udinese 3-0 to hand hosts fifth straight defeat - SportInsight

Lecce won 3-0 away to Udinese, with Kialonda Gaspar, Konan N’Dri and Jamil Siebert scoring. Udinese’s fifth consecutive defeat leaves them with another difficult result to take into their next match, against AC Milan on Sunday, 25 October.

Gaspar put Lecce ahead in the 11th minute, heading in from Antonino Gallo’s corner. Lecce doubled the lead in the 33rd minute: Tiago Gabriel supplied the assist and N’Dri finished to make it 2-0.

Udinese had a chance to cut the deficit after the break when Jakub Piotrowski scored from Keinan Davis’s pass. The goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review, according to Calcio Lecce. The decision kept Lecce’s two-goal cushion intact.

Lecce continued to threaten after that reprieve. Calcio Lecce reported several missed opportunities for the visitors, including a N’Dri effort that went over the bar after he won the ball. Udinese pushed forward late on, but Lecce held their lead.

Siebert made the result secure in the 86th minute. He won possession in Udinese’s half and finished to complete the 3-0 win.

The result extends Udinese’s losing run to five matches, according to fcinter1908.it. Their next chance to respond comes at home to AC Milan on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 20:45 CET.

Lecce travel back with three goals and a clean sheet. They host Juventus later that day, at 18:00 CET. The two Sunday fixtures give both sides a quick opportunity to build on—or respond to—the result at Udinese.
