Krstović starts for Atalanta as Scamacca drops to the bench against Milan

Atalanta have named Nikola Krstović in their starting XI for the visit to Milan, with Gianluca Scamacca among the substitutes for the 18:00 kick-off at San Siro. Charles De Ketelaere also starts for Maurizio Sarri’s side.

The selection gives Krstović the starting place up front while Scamacca is an option from the bench. Atalanta’s XI is Marco Carnesecchi; Pašalić, Lazar Samardžić, Rowe, Éderson (captain), Raoul Bellanova, De Ketelaere, Sead Kolašinac, Kristensen, Bernasconi and Krstović.

Scamacca is joined on the bench by Sportiello and Zappacosta. Atalanta arrive in 10th place with nine points, looking to improve their position against a Milan side who have made an unbeaten start to the league campaign.

Milan are sixth on 12 points from six games. Their starting XI features captain Mike Maignan, Gila, Malick Thiaw, Strahinja Pavlović, Moreira, Yunus Musah, Luka Modrić, Adrien Rabiot, Samuel Chukwueze, Christian Pulisic and Ramos. Ruben Amorim’s substitutes include Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori, Ardon Jashari and Francesco Camarda.

Milan are without Alexis Saelemaekers and Matteo Gabbia, who are out with ankle and thigh injuries respectively. The match is the seventh round of Serie A and kicks off at 18:00 CEST on Sunday, 18 October, at San Siro. Milan’s unbeaten run and Atalanta’s choice to start Krstović ahead of Scamacca are the key selection points as the teams meet.
