Three goals inside 31 minutes put Inter beyond Parma’s reach in a 3-0 victory that kept the Serie A leaders unbeaten and extended their perfect home league record to four wins. Petar Sučić opened the scoring, Hakan Çalhanoğlu converted a penalty and Marcus Thuram added the third, completing the scoring before half-time as Inter returned to winning with a clean sheet.

Sučić struck in the 13th minute to give Inter the lead. Parma had little time to respond before Çalhanoğlu scored from the penalty spot five minutes later, leaving the visitors two goals behind with less than a quarter of the match played.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan then supplied the assist for Thuram’s goal in the 31st minute. Just 18 minutes separated the opener from the third, and that burst established a margin Parma could not reduce over the remainder of the game.
The penalty was the middle blow in a first half that punished Parma quickly. Inter went into the interval 3-0 ahead, with three different scorers contributing and no need for a further goal after the break to secure the points.
Parma coach Alberto Gilardino’s assessment of the opening stages offered a contrast to the score. Speaking to DAZN, he said his team had started well, pointing to their passing, cohesion and some danger created before the game moved decisively away from them.
Gilardino also said the third goal angered him most and that his side needed time to work. Thuram’s strike left Parma facing a much steeper task at half-time: the visitors needed three goals simply to draw level, having conceded three in the space of 18 minutes.
Inter’s full-match figures gave the win substance beyond that early scoring spell. They held 59% possession and registered 19 shots to Parma’s nine, finishing with six attempts on target against the visitors’ two. The hosts therefore paired their early goals with a clear advantage in both attempts and accuracy across the match.
The corner count also favoured Inter, three to one, although the decisive difference was already on the scoreboard. Parma’s nine attempts brought no goal, and their two efforts on target were not enough to spoil the hosts’ defensive return.
That clean sheet carried significance of its own. TuttoMercatoWeb reported that Inter had not recorded one since August, making this more than another productive afternoon in front of goal. After establishing their lead, they completed the second half without allowing Parma back into the match.
Inter now lead Serie A with 16 points from six games, their record standing at five wins and one draw with a goal difference of +10. Four home victories have delivered 12 of those points, with no home draws or defeats to interrupt that run.
Their record against Parma has been similarly strong. Across five meetings since August 2024, Inter have won four and drawn one, with this result extending a sequence in which Parma have yet to beat them.
For the visitors, the wider picture is less comfortable. Parma sit 17th with four points from six matches, level on points with the relegation places. Their league record now reads one win, one draw and four defeats, with a goal difference of -6.
All three of Parma’s away league matches this season have ended in defeat. Gilardino’s call for time to work comes against that concrete problem: his side have yet to collect a point on the road, and their encouraging opening at Inter did not prevent another loss.
Best moments: The official Serie A YouTube channel has published highlights titled “Chivu Cala il Tris” and “The Nerazzurri Keep Going Strong”. The goals to revisit are Sučić’s opener in the 13th minute, Çalhanoğlu’s penalty in the 18th and Thuram’s Mkhitaryan-assisted strike in the 31st.
Inter’s early-season position rests on a reliable home return, now reinforced by a clean sheet. Parma’s priority is to turn Gilardino’s work into points away from home; with no points separating them from the relegation places, improvement needs to reach the results as well as the performance.
