Genoa seek first away points against unbeaten Roma

Genoa’s first away points of the season are at stake against a Roma side unbeaten through six Serie A matches. The hosts sit third with 14 points; Genoa arrive 17th with four and need to turn their latest win into progress on the road.

Roma have won four and drawn two, with a goal difference of +11. Genoa have one win, one draw and four defeats, and a goal difference of -6. Their latest form markers differ: Roma’s is a draw, while Genoa’s is a win.

Daniele De Rossi’s squad completed its final training session at the Signorini training ground in Pegli on Friday, then set off for the capital that afternoon. The Genoa coach can call on several Primavera players, including Robinho Jr., as his side looks to carry its recent result into a difficult away fixture.

Roma will be without Bryan Cristante, M. Bah, M. Kone, Mile Svilar, Paulo Dybala and D. Malen, according to the verified availability list. Malen is suspended following a red card; the other five are listed as unavailable with injuries.

Genoa’s travelling support will also be restricted. Supporters resident in Liguria will not be present, while a small number of Rossoblù fans living elsewhere are expected to attend. They can use the away parking area on Via Macchia della Farnesina.

Kick-off is at 20:45 CEST on Saturday, 17 October. Roma will aim to extend their unbeaten start, while Genoa need their first points away from home to improve on a record of one win, one draw and four defeats.
