Inter bring Serie A’s best attack and an unbeaten start to Bologna on Saturday, while Artem Dovbyk is still waiting for his chance. Bologna coach Raffaele Palladino says a minor flexor problem interrupted the striker’s progress after he built up minutes during the international break.
Dovbyk played for Bologna’s Primavera side and against Ascoli, and Palladino said he responded well. The coach said the forward has minutes in his legs but must stay calm until his opportunity arrives. “His moment will arrive,” Palladino said at his pre-match press conference.
Palladino has decided who will start in goal, but has not announced whether it will be Lukasz Skorupski or Pessina. He said he has full confidence in both and will back his choice. Training determines selection, he added, while errors are part of the job for players, coaches and referees.
The table makes the challenge clear. Inter lead with 16 points from six matches; Bologna are 14th on five, with one win, two draws and three defeats. Both teams come into the game after a win, but Palladino described Inter as the side at the top with the league’s best attack. He said matches against leading teams are decided by details.
His message to Bologna is to show “personality, courage and healthy boldness” and keep the ball better. Palladino pointed to spells in the recent game at Lecce when his team should have managed possession more effectively. He wants his players to read the different phases of the match and give everything, with a full Renato Dall’Ara behind them.
Jay Enem is also pushing for minutes. Palladino said he likes the young player independently of his goal, praising his seriousness and professionalism. Enem has one league goal this season. The coach had tried him as a trequartista and said his pace and physical sharpness stood out in training during the week. Enem took his opportunity in a match, and Palladino will assess whether he gets more time against Inter.
Bologna will be without Emil Holm and Riccardo Orsolini, both sidelined by thigh injuries. The teams meet at the Renato Dall’Ara on Saturday, 17 October, at 18:00 CEST. Bologna need to build on their latest win against the league leaders; for Dovbyk, the immediate task is to wait for his chance.
