Juventus have taken two points from their last two Serie A matches, and Francisco Conceição says the difference has come down to details. The winger’s message ahead of the Europa League meeting with Celta Vigo was direct: good performances count for little if Juventus cannot turn them into wins.
Juventus sit sixth with 11 points from six league matches. Conceição said the team had played well against a strong side at home, but found it difficult to break down an opponent defending deep. “We’ve talked about these details: we have to improve and do better to win matches,” he said.
That is the issue Juventus need to address as they try to recover in the league. Conceição did not point to a lack of effort or promise a quick fix; he identified the small moments that decide matches as the area for improvement. With two points from their most recent two league fixtures, the margin for turning performances into a stronger run is clear.
Celta offers an immediate change of competition. The match is Juventus’ second in the Europa League league phase, and Conceição said the club wants to perform well while preparing for opponents with different styles from those in Serie A. He also noted that Celta had a good season last year. The European fixture gives Juventus a chance to respond, but the league problem remains the central measure of progress.
Conceição also described himself as comfortable at Juventus and said he has the confidence of the coach, directors and others at the club. He stressed, however, that expectations are high and improving the details is necessary to reach the team’s objectives. Asked about comparisons with Mohamed Salah, the Portuguese winger called the Liverpool forward “a legend of football” and said he learns from many players while continuing to work on his own game.
After Celta, Juventus return to Serie A at home to Lazio on Sunday, October 18. Their sixth-place position and recent points return make the priority plain: they need to make their performances count in the league.
