Francesco Pio “Obrun” Tagliafierro arrives at Como Gaming Club with two titles from last season—and a brief that extends well beyond competition. Como 1907 have signed the Italian EA FC professional on a multi-year contract, adding an established winner to the club’s esports plans while making him part of its work with supporters and the wider community.
Obrun won both the eSerie A and the eChampions League last season. He will represent Como in major official EA FC competitions as the club looks to pursue further success. Como also describe him as a central figure in their long-term gaming plans, placing Italian talent at the heart of their ambitions on the international esports stage.
The contract gives Obrun responsibilities away from tournaments, too. He will take part in content creation, special projects and community activities, with the aim of giving supporters opportunities to get to know him and take part in the club’s gaming programme.
That wider role reflects how Como present the Gaming Club: as more than a route to tournament results. The club sees gaming as another way for people to discover Como, connect with the club and share an interest in football. Its programme brings together sport, entertainment and digital culture, with a community intended to grow beyond the pitch.
The multi-year agreement also gives Como continuity as they develop the programme across competitions, supporter experiences, partner collaborations and gaming-related merchandise. Obrun’s two trophies provide a recent competitive foundation; his work with content and community is meant to connect that success to a broader supporter experience.
The move is therefore about more than adding a champion to the roster. Como are building a gaming presence that aims to compete while giving fans more ways to engage with the club. Obrun’s next chapter will put both parts of that plan into practice.
