Samuel Chukwueze is expected to be available for AC Milan against Atalanta, giving Ruben Amorim another attacking option for a match with a six-point swing between the sides at stake. The Nigeria international sat out in Salzburg as a precaution after experiencing slight muscle fatigue, but reports say the concern has passed.
Chukwueze travelled with Milan to Salzburg but remained on the bench throughout. Calciomercato.com reports he is ready to play, and MilanNews.it also says he will be available. His return comes as Milan navigate closely spaced Serie A and Europa League fixtures.
The reported absentees are Alexis Saelemaekers, Matteo Gabbia and Pietro Terracciano. Milan’s verified injury list names Saelemaekers with an ankle injury and Gabbia with a thigh injury; Calciomercato.com also expects Terracciano to miss out. The reports therefore point to three unavailable players, though the confirmed injury-list details cover two of them.
Amorim gave the squad Friday off before Milan returned to training on Saturday to prepare for the San Siro match. That schedule comes during a crowded run of domestic and European games, making Chukwueze’s availability a useful addition rather than a reason to assume Milan will have a full squad.
Milan are sixth with 12 points from six games and remain unbeaten, having recorded three wins and three draws. Atalanta sit 10th on nine points, with three wins and three defeats. A Milan victory would put six points between the teams; an Atalanta win would draw them level.
The match is scheduled for Sunday, 18 October, at 18:00 CEST. Chukwueze’s return strengthens Milan’s options as they look to preserve their unbeaten start, while the reported absences leave Amorim managing his resources through a demanding stretch.
