Bracaglia: Frosinone will face Napoli without fear - SportInsight

Frosinone will not abandon their playing identity against Napoli, says defender Gabriele Bracaglia. He expects a demanding test against a side with Champions League quality, but says his team are preparing to compete on their own terms.

“We have a clear identity,” Bracaglia said at his pre-match press conference. “We’ll go there without fear.” He described Napoli as a strong side with quality on the ball and players who featured at the most recent World Cup. Frosinone, he said, will need a strong performance to meet that challenge.

Bracaglia acknowledged the risk in Frosinone’s approach: their style can leave space in behind. Napoli’s counter-attacks and changes of play could make the game physically demanding, so Frosinone will need to be strong in one-on-one battles. Bracaglia said the squad are ready for that test physically and athletically.

The defender’s message was not to reshape the team’s approach for the opponent. Frosinone know Napoli’s qualities, he said, but intend to stick with their own identity. Their coach, Bracaglia added, has built that identity into the team and likes to see them play openly against opponents.

A long break gave Frosinone time to work on fitness and ideas, rest mentally and strengthen relationships within the squad. Players returning from international duty rejoined the group. Bracaglia said the team had stayed calm and grounded despite drawing attention after good performances.

He also backed Frosinone’s attacking options, naming Raimondo, Bobcek and Birligea as players suited to their roles. The coach will decide who plays. Napoli is the first test of whether Frosinone can hold to their approach against a high-level opponent: the challenge is to stay true to their style while handling the space and physical demands Bracaglia identified.
