Alisson Santos is in doubt for Napoli’s home match against AS Roma on 24 October after feeling a problem in his right leg late in the defeat at Venezia. There is no recovery timeline yet: medical checks in the coming hours are expected to clarify the issue, so Napoli cannot yet know whether the winger will be available or how long he might be out.
Santos came on as a second-half substitute and felt the problem after a solo run ended with a shot saved by Filip Stanković. He touched his right leg and appeared to feel a pull, then stayed still during stoppage time rather than risk aggravating it, Calciomercato.com reported, citing DAZN.
Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri also described the concern to DAZN. He said Santos had felt a strain on his final shot, had been training with the team for eight days and appeared to have hurt himself “quite badly”, while stressing that he could not yet know the extent of the problem. The examinations, rather than the initial reaction on the pitch, will establish the recovery outlook.
That leaves Napoli with an immediate selection question, not a confirmed absence. Roma are next at home on Saturday, 24 October, and the checks will determine whether Santos can remain in contention or whether Napoli must plan without him. The winger’s status is the key issue; the available information does not establish a longer spell out.
The timing comes after Napoli’s 1-0 defeat at Venezia. They sit ninth with 10 points from six games, and another injury concern adds uncertainty ahead of the Roma fixture. Until the results of the medical checks are known, any assessment of Santos’s return—or of what Napoli will have to change in his absence—would be premature.
